چکیده

We study the existence of non-special divisors of degree g and g − 1 for algebraic function fields of genus g ≥ 1 defined over a finite field Fq. In particular, we prove that there always exists an effective non-special divisor of degree g ≥ 2 if q ≥ 3 and that there always exists a non-special divisor of degree g − 1 ≥ 1 if q ≥ 4. We use our results to improve upper and upper asymptotic bounds on the bilinear complexity of the multiplication in any extension Fqn of Fq, when q = 2r ≥ 16. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 11R58.

On the Existence of Dimension Zero Divisors in Algebraic Function Fields

Let F/Fq be an algebraic function field of genus g defined over a finite field Fq. We obtain new results on the existence, the number and the density of dimension zero divisors of degree g− k in F/Fq where k is an integer ≥ 1. In particular, for q = 2, 3 we prove that there always exists a dimension zero divisor of degree γ − 1 where γ is the q-rank of F and in particular a non-special divisor ...

We study arithmetical and geometrical properties of maximal curves, that is, curves defined over the finite field F q 2 whose number of F q 2-rational points reaches the Hasse-Weil upper bound. Under a hypothesis on non-gaps at a rational point, we prove that maximal curves are F q 2-isomorphic to y q + y = x m , for some m ∈ Z +. As a consequence we show that a maximal curve of genus g = (q − ...

Determination of a Matrix Function in the Form of f(A)=g(q(A)) Where g(x) Is a Transcendental Function and q(x) Is a Polynomial Function of Large Degree Using the Minimal Polynomial

Matrix functions are used in many areas of linear algebra and arise in numerical applications in science and engineering. In this paper, we introduce an effective approach for determining matrix function f(A)=g(q(A)) of a square matrix A, where q is a polynomial function from a degree of m and also function g can be a transcendental function. Computing a matrix function f(A) will be time- consu...

Ordinary plane models and completely split divisors

Let C be a smooth, non-hyperelliptic curve over an algebraically closed field of genus g ≥ 4. We show that the projection from the canonical model of C through (g−3) generic points on C is a birational morphism to a plane curve which has only finitely many non-ordinary tangents, that is, flexor bitangents. For smooth, non-hyperelliptic curves of a fixed genus g ≥ 4 over finite fields, we show t...
